Journal of Statistics and Information strictly implements the "three reviews and three proofreading" system and the anonymous evaluation system of peer experts, which includes initial review by the editorial department, review by responsible editors, double-blind review by external audit experts, final review by the editorial board and three proofreading of the sample, mutual proofreading by editors, and final proofreading by the chief editor, and finally the entire issue is printed. The specific review process and manuscript status are explained below.

1. Successful submission: The manuscript has been successfully submitted to our publication and editorial system, with a unique submission number.

2. Preliminary review: The editorial department conducts a preliminary review of all submissions and decides whether to approve, revise, or reject them. Estimated processing time for this stage: 2 weeks.

The possible reasons for rejection during the initial review stage include: failure to pass the ideology plagiarism check, inconsistency with the purpose of this journal, low academic value, outdated data, unclear logic, poor readability, serious violation of the journal's requirements in manuscript format, failure to use maps and data in accordance with regulations, etc.

Attention: The author information should be indicated in the submitted Word document to confirm the author's affiliation and signature.

3. Editor's review: Conduct a comprehensive review of the responsible manuscript, and make decisions on rejection, external review, and other processing. The review content mainly includes ideology, topic selection, methods, innovation, reference value, writing proficiency, writing norms, etc.

4. External review: Inviting 1-2 reviewers for peer review. In case of rejection, overdue review, inconsistent review opinions, or lack of reference, the editorial department will add or replace reviewers. The expected processing time for this stage is 1-3 months.

Reviewers should comprehensively evaluate the scientific, innovative, and practical nature of the paper topic, the rationality of scientific research design, and the accuracy of textual expression, including the following five aspects:

(1) Is there any academic ethical issue with the paper? Is it within the scope of this publication?

(2) Is the topic significance of the paper cutting-edge and hot topic? Is it of great significance and reference value?

(3) Is the paper sufficiently innovative? Does a review paper have a certain breadth, depth, and foresight?

(4) Is the argument and experiment in the paper reasonable? Are the references sufficient?

(5) Is the structure and logic of the paper rigorous? Is the language writing of the paper fluent?

5. Review: The process is the same as external review. Estimated processing time for this stage is 1-2 months.

For manuscripts that require review after revision, the two stages of "review" and " return for revision" may be repeated. The author will receive an email notification during the "return for revision" stage, which is required to review the revision comments in the submission system, submit the revised manuscript, and attach a modification explanation in front of the main text. The revision instructions should be explained item by item based on the review comments. The modified parts of the manuscript need to be marked with other colors for the convenience of reviewers or editors. The author should return the revised manuscript within the specified time.

6. Review by the editorial department: Based on the opinions of reviewers, the editorial department decides to proceed with the final review, review the manuscript after revision, reject it, and replace other reviewers. Estimated processing time for this stage is 1-4 weeks.

7. Final review: After passing the review process mentioned above, the submission will be submitted by the editorial department to the editorial board for centralized review and final review. Finally, a decision will be made on the acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript. Estimated processing time for this stage is 1-4 weeks.

In the final review stage, the editorial board may reject the paper. The reasons for rejection mainly include:

(1) The final review is based on merit, and manuscripts that do not meet academic standards will be rejected.

(2) Highly repetitive with the author's thesis (>10%) (Note: If the excerpt of the submitted paper is from a master's or doctoral thesis, the thesis cannot be published earlier than this journal, otherwise the plagiarism check results before publication may have a high duplication rate with the thesis, violating the copyright transfer agreement of this journal and resulting in rejection).

(3) Suspected multiple submissions in one manuscript: In addition to text repetition rate, the data, samples, figures, tables, etc. in the paper are highly similar; Repeated submissions in different journals during the same period, which have already been published in other academic journals during the final review period; Repeated publication across languages.

(4) Repeated publication of research results, lack of innovation, blind pursuit of publication quantity, fragmented publication of research results, and violation of the principle of "representative work".

(5) The author proposes to withdraw the manuscript.

(6) Other academic misconduct.
